Social - 7pm, Wednesday 13 August - Druid's Head, Kingston

posted 10 Aug 2014, 01:47 by Charlie Parker

We don't have a regular meeting scheduled this month so, as promised, we'll be holding a social event!

This first social will be just a simple relaxed drinks at the Druids Head in Kingston Market Place. This is the perfect event to come to if it is your first time as it's very relaxed and not as 'heavy' as our regular formal meetings, and it gives you a great chance to meet and get to know the Kingston LGBT Forum team and a few of our members.

If you are coming alone and are worried about meeting lots of people then let us know and one of the Committee members can meet you individually and then introduce you to the group personally.

The event will start around 7pm, although I'm sure there will be a few of us there a little bit earlier. Take a look at our committee page on our website to help you recognise us! The page is available here, and take a look at our events calendar for more details of the event here.

We really hope to see you all there!

London LGBT Pride this Saturday 28 June

posted 26 Jun 2014, 07:17 by Charlie Parker

Every year the Kingston LGBT Forum takes part in the LGBT Pride Parade through London. The Parade is our time to showcase ourselves to the world and to the rest of the LGBT community. The Parade is the only community event that is large enough to close half of the West End and Europe's busiest shopping street!

This year London Pride will be taking place between 22-29th June, with the Parade itself taking place on Saturday 28th, and of course the Kingston LGBT Forum will be there!

Timings for the day:
10:00 - Meet at Kingston Train Station
10:15 - Leave Kingston
11:00 - Arrive at the Baker Street assembly area
13:00 - The Parade sets off
15:30 - The Parade finishes

For more information about London Pride itself, take a look at its website here.

Pre-Pride meeting and social

This Tuesday 24 June we will be hosting a special briefing to go through our plans for the Parade, this will be especially useful to those of you who haven't been before.

At the meeting we will also be making placards for the parade so you'll need to get your artistic hats on! The Forum will be providing the materials but you are more than welcome to bring you own as well.
Afterwards we will more than likely be heading to the pub for a quick bevvy!
