Dying matters - help make a film - Saturday 28 April, 1-4pm, St Barnabas Church, E3

posted 17 Apr 2012, 14:58 by Charlie Parker
At our last meeting we spoke about dying and dignity for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people. Dying Matters is a project trying to change public attitudes and behaviour around death, dying and bereavement. They are making a short film called I didn't want that to encourage lesbian, gay, bi and trans people to put plans in place for when they die. The film will be shown through social media and pilot TV advert as a way of getting people to think about a person's real requests when they die, rather than what is sterotypically associated with them.

Dying Matters need you to help them film an 'over the top, gay, funeral'. You will be asked to mingle and create a party atmosphere while being filmed. There will also be drag performers, food, drink (bring your own too) and a £100 prize for the best dressed.

Filming takes place on Saturday 28 April, 1-4pm at St Barnabas Church, Grove Road, Bow, London, E3 5TG

For more details email Leon Ancliffe, the film's producer. For more details about Dying Matters and their work with LGBT people visit their website.
