Description
The Kingston LGBTQ+ Forum look forward to welcoming you to a relaxing sound bath meditation session at the Kingston Quaker Centre.
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a full-body meditative experience where people lie down and listen to resonant sounds. It often involves singing bowls, which create an echoing sound that ‘bathes’ people. Sometimes gongs and chimes are used. Some people find that it can induce a state of meditation, clear energetic blockages, unlock emotions, reduce muscle tension, facilitate overall healing on a physical and mental level. Other benefits also include lower stress levels, relaxation and improving sleep quality.
Important information
The sound bath will take place on Friday 18 October 2024 at 19:00, and the session is expected to last for around 1.5 hours. We will begin promptly, therefore we request that you arrive no later than 18:45 in order to settle into the space. Due to the nature of the sound bath, latecomers arriving after 19:00 will not be permitted to enter as this will be disruptive.
It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothes and you will need to bring a yoga mat to lie down on. You might also want to bring a blanket, cushion, water bottle, and warm socks.
Booking information
This session is limited to 13 participants, so be sure to book your place soon. Tickets are priced at £12 per person (excl. booking fees). If you would like to attend but cannot afford to pay to reserve your space, we have set aside a number of free spaces for those on low incomes. Please use our contact form to let us know if you require this.
Access information
There is very limited parking available at the Kingston Quaker Centre, so it is recommended to take public transport. For information on accessibility and access, please visit AccessAble. If information is not available, please send us a message with your access needs and we will do our best to advise.
We look forward to welcoming you to a relaxing sound bath!
